Infutor Property Data Enables Urban Institute’s Research on Disaster-Related Household Mobility

Robust Historical Property and Real Estate Data Supports Social and Economic Policy-shaping Research

Consumer identity management expert Infutor today announced a collaboration with the Urban Institute to support social economics research. Through Infutor’s robust historical consumer data, the Urban Institute is able to track the repeated moves of households in disaster-affected areas specifically focused on the patterns of movement following the Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Maria disasters.

The current research, set to be published in July 2021, utilizes Infutor data to track household mobility in disaster-affected areas against non-movers to develop a comparison group of non-affected areas so that the research organization can better measure and spatially define disaster-caused moves.

The Urban Institute is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan organization in Washington, D.C., that conducts economic and social policy research. Urban strives to shape policymaker decisions and strengthen communities with its evidence and analysis. .

“Smart analyses start with good data, and we often have to ‘scrub’ data sets in order to uncover patterns and understand problems,” said Carlos Martín, Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute. “Fortunately, the richness, quality and accuracy of Infutor’s data set enabled us to immediately run analyses of it against disaster data.”

“In the past 12-18 months, more and more institutions and research organizations like Stanford, Notre Dame, Penn State University and UpJohn Institute have turned to Infutor for our unique and authoritative datasets to help support research initiatives that inform future policymaking,” said Gary Walter, CEO of Infutor. “We are proud to add the Urban Institute to that growing list as they strive to further develop policy-impacting social and economic research.”

Infutor compiles deterministic, authoritative and permissible data from sources such as telephone data, deed and property information, subscription services and numerous other privacy and security-compliant sources. Infutor combines these records into a single identity graph that identifies individuals and links particular records to a single individual. The result is a list of unique individual residential histories.
